Education

CHM offers the largest dual language and bilingual Head Start (from birth to 5) in Wisconsin, related training and professional development for parents and Head Start staff, and a large Resource Center. It has a small alternative bilingual high school for at-risk students and a healthy youth program; and, it offers an adult education and workforce development program

Housing

CHM has six buildings dedicated to elderly and disabled housing.There is an on-site community worker who assists clients with home foreclosure prevention.

Immigration & Bilingual Social Services CHM offers bilingual assistance with housing foreclosures and related fiscal issues; an immigration program that assist in all areas of immigration, including assistance in processes that may lead to US citizenship.

Every year Centro Hispano Milwaukee recognizes this time of the year to prepare and distribute a box of food and gift certificate to a local supermarket for economically challenged families. Volunteer are needed to successfully accomplish this mission.

The Council for the Spanish Speaking administration department is seeking volunteers in the area of expertise in fund development, planning corporate events, human services and higher education.

Housing for the Elderly Program



The Centro encourages volunteers to visit our community rooms located inside each of our six housing units. Volunteers are needed to help with beautification of seniors apartments. 2 hour durations.

Donations are always accepted: Items for Arts and Crafts, coffee grain, sugar, creamer, furniture ....


Guadalupe Head Start

If you love interacting with children you may want to volunteer at one of our Head Start sites. This will give volunteers an opportunity to interact with young children in a bilingual setting. Volunteers may read books or assist teachers in the classroom. 


Adult Learning and Workforce Development - Tutoring services
Dates and times are from Monday thru Friday's 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. t 5:00 p.m.

Centro Hispano High School - After school tutoring (subjects English and Math)
Monday after 3:00 p.m.

El Dia de los Ninos- April 28, 2012
This event is hosted by the Centro Hispano to celebrate and honor children and to remind the community of their responsibility of the well being of children and families.
Volunteers assist children with arts & crafts and staff with preparation of the event. 
El Dia de los Ninos is usually hosted the last Saturday of the month of April.
